- edited March 2007I think ESP Vison works, and what i've know you can connect it withot the dongle...
- edited March 2007hi Amber it's still me.
Like queerdoo has already mentioned ESP vision might be an option.
Just consider that ESP vision is little bit demanding from a hardware point of view, particularly if you running Hog3pc and ESP vision on the same pc.
Capture might be the other option. click on this link http://www.capturesweden.com/download.aspx and download the demo version. They have an interesting demo file you can play with.
Don't forget to download the Visualizer Connectivity application at http://www.flyingpig.com/support/hog3/downloads/archive/wyg/VisualizerConnectivity.shtml
there you can also download a pdf file with instructions to get your visualizer connected to the console.
have fun
Marco - edited March 2007Marco you have been soo helpfull , are you here in calif? well anyways
again thank you soo much.
Amber ....... - edited March 2007Amber,
The Wholehog 3 family offers network connectivity with WYSIWYG, ESP Vision, Capture, and Martin Show Designer.
The visualizer PC will need to have the current version (v1.1.0.59) of the Wholehog 3 Connectivity Driver Installed and it will need to have a valid network connection to your console or Hog 3PC. They will also need to be running on the same network port number.
You may want to take a look at the visualizer connectivity guides and tutorials that are available on the Flying Pig Systems web site and the visualizer connectivity section of the Wholehog 3 User Manual.
I hope this helps. - edited March 2007Hi Tom,
I still Cannot connect to wysiwyg, Plus i do not have a dongle. I did hear that there was a show file that i could get that would enable me to minipulate using hog 3 pc. i have also upgraded to hog connect 1.0.1.59 and still no luck even after i went through all the steps. However the connect software seems to be connecting and running. but i cannot connect directly to the hog 3 pc software. what else can i do ? .thanks again.
Amber . - edited March 2007In LIVE mode of Wyg have you added a DP-2000, given it the appropriate Net ##, and patched fixtures in Wyg to it? Also you must 'bind' outputs in Wyg.
Do all your fixtures in Wyg have their DMX addresses assigned? - edited March 2007Amber just remember that the demo version of Wysiwyg does not connect to any console.
That's why I was suggesting in the first place to download Capture.
Their demo version can be connected to hog 3 pc. there's a demo file (howard show if I'm not mistaken) that is a small theatre with a small rig you can play with. ESP vision has a demo file as well and you can manage to get it connected to hog 3 pc. If you've got kind of educational purpose anyway, I would definitely go for Capture that is less hardware demanding.
Marco - edited March 2007I use capture on my laptop with Hog 3PC........
They both work fine together and don't seem to use up too much memory.
As i'm still using the demo version at the moment Capture closes down after a few hours and I have to start again from scratch.
However it only takes me around 15 mins to place myfixtures roughly and set the DMX on them.
So I get about 2 and a half hours worth of programming.
Posistions are just rough then I fine tune when I have the real rig infromt of me.
All works fine for when out and about.
However, with Capture if u purchase one copy, you are free to use it yourself on more then one computer i am led to believe.
i.e. you PC at work and on your laptop...... you just need to get a seprate registration code from them.
This being something I must do soon.
Kris. - edited June 2007Kris, I own capture.
maybe I can build you a show so you don't have to waste some time to rebuild it again.
And for demo it doesn't really close by itself.
it will still work as long as you don't click the close button.
just drag the close pop-up box somewhere else. - edited November 2007I didn't want to start a new thread on visualizers, but had a couple of newbie questions, since I am unfamiliar with visualizers.
We are running the Road Hog at work. What method would I take to create a show on a laptop offline, and then transfer that show to the console? If someone would like to PM me if that's better they can. And I appreciate any help! - edited November 2007Simple.
Run H3PC on the laptop with your visualizer.
Use the Connectivity program to make them talk to each other.
When you are done programming on the laptop, make a backup of the show to USB.
Take the USB and launch the backup file from the Roadhog.
It really is that simple, depending on what visualizer you are running.
Hope this helps:) - edited December 2007Marty,
Would the free H3PC software be sufficient for this? - edited December 2007Yes Hog III PC will work,
make sure you are running same versions of software on the roadhog and laptop and try to get the latest connectivity driver to connect Hog III PC to your visualizer software.
Cj - edited December 2007Marty,
Would the free H3PC software be sufficient for this?
Yes it is, but as Cormac states, you will want to make sure you are running the latest version on BOTH your PC and your Roadhog.
Currently this is v2.2.2 (b1809) - edited December 2007Marty, is there any software that you prefer? I just want to play around so I will probaly download the demos and try them out. Are there any demos that would actually let me save out a scene and take it to the console?
- edited December 2007By 'save a scene' do you mean in the console, or on the visualizer?
While ESP does not allow you to change the demo showfile, you can save looks in your H3PC and make any changes there that you like. Then you can take that H3PC showfile and load it into your Roadhog. - edited December 2007Right that is what I was looking for. If I would be able to demo some software that will allow me to take it to the actual console and see how good it looks. Thanks

- edited January 2008There aren't any visualizers that are inherently Mac...that being said, with Parallels or Bootcamp, I am able to use Wyg all the time.
